The Library’s Young Adult Section focuses on teenagers ages 13 to 18 with a collection that includes: current and classic fiction, nonfiction covering diverse topics, audio books and magazines. This section also houses the library’s graphic novel collection. There is one computer reserved exclusively for use by patrons ages 13-18, available next to the Library computer lab near Reference. The Youth Department Staff is always happy to assist with reader’s advisory, research, and curriculum support.
The Library also has an active Teen Advisory Board (TAB) that meets several times a year to suggest materials for the Young Adult collection, and help plan activities for teens. We offer a variety of programs for teens during the year, including Texas Teens Read, which culminates in an overnight Library Lock-In.
