If you love books and helping people, we need your help! The Library is always in need of volunteers for everything from shelving books and stuffing envelopes, to cleaning and teaching computer classes! Tell us what you'd like to do and we'll try and find a spot for you! Just let us know when you would like to work- there are no mandatory shifts or hours for volunteers.
If you like to work with computers, class schedules are flexible- we can accommodate you whether you're available in the morning, afternoon or evening. We even have complete lesson plans if you prefer to just follow them or you can make your own. No teaching experience necessary- you just need to know whichever computer program you're teaching. If there's a program you really enjoy and we don't offer a class for it- you can start one- the possibilities are endless! Also, we would love to be able to offer computer classes in Spanish if you speak Spanish fluently!
Volunteering can gives you valuable experience to add to your resume as well.. From college students to retirees, this is a great opportunity to give back to the community. If you're interested in volunteering at the Library, contact Mary Jane Burnett, Community Relations Coordinator, at 903-237-1390 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
