Longview Public Library provides a variety of services to the residents of Longview and Gregg County. For more information on any of these services, please contact the Library.
Bond Program
The Circle of Success Bond Program provides library assistance to seniors. Trained volunteers work with patrons to provide support in library services needed.
Computer Classes
Computer Classes are offered regularly and include "basics" courses about computers, the Internet, and e-mail, as well as classes on Microsoft Office 2007 Products, including Word and Excel.
Computer Lab/Internet Use
The Library has 25 PC computers and 23 iMac computers available for public use. These computers are free of charge and can be reserved in advance. All public computers have internet access. The Library also provides free wireless access throughout the building.
Databases
Search online articles from newspapers, magazines and journals, as well as perform research regarding genealogy/family history, homework needs and more.
Digital Downloads: eBooks & eAudiobooks
The Longview Public Library currently offers eBooks through Ebsco.
Coming this summer: OverDrive!
Interlibrary Loan
The Interlibrary Loan Service requests books and magazine articles not available at Longview Public Library from other libraries across the United States.
Microfiche Machines
The Library has a wide variety of materials available on microfilm and houses several microfiche machines.
Moeschle Meeting Room
The Cecile B. Moeschle Meeting Room is available for meetings year-round. Facilities include tables, chairs, projection equipment and a limited kitchen.
Reading Room & Periodicals
The Reading Room provides a comfortable area for reading any Library materials. It also houses all current Library periodicals, including local and national newspapers, and a large selection of magazines.
Reader Services
Find helpful tools for selecting new materials to enjoy, such as online book clubs, databases and more.
Special Devices
For those with specific needs, such as low-vision needs, the Library has several devices available.
Youth Services
The Library offers youth services and programs year-round, from Spring and Summer Reading Clubs and storytimes to a wide selection of reading, audio and visual materials for checkout and reference.
Tax Information
Each year the Library receives copies of the most commonly used tax forms, as well as specialized forms. These forms are available to the public along with this online information for do-it-yourself tax filing.
