The Texas Film Round-Up is coming and they want your old home movies and films! In return, you will receive a digital version of your films and videos for free, as well as your original items.
A joint collaboration between Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI) and Texas Film Commission (TFC), the Texas Round-Up event is geared toward collecting and preserving videos and films. These items are considered valuable and unique historic records, as they document our lives and cultures. Films and videos wear out and break down over time so it is important to preserve them for future generations. That's why the Texas Film Round-Up will provide free digitization of these documentaries and will return the originals.
The Longview Public Library is pleased to be a host for the Texas Film Round-Up! We will be collecting your films and videos for this purpose from February 17th - March 3rd. Accepted formats include: Super 8, 8mm, 16mm, VHS, SVHS, BetaSP, 3/4" video, 8mm video. In order to participate, all required paperwork must be filled out and signed, including an agreement that allows TAMI, TFC and LPL to keep a digital copy of any movies and films submitted to be used as historical records and for research purposes. For the paperwork and more information, stop by our Genealogy/ Local History department and talk to Miss Linda Laminack.
