Need a break from the summer heat but still want some quality family time? Join us for our summer movies series "An Afternoon At The Movies!"
Every Thursday in June and July (except 4th of July), we will gather in the Moeschle Room for a movie at 1:30 PM.
From beasts, witches and spies to cats, dogs, toys and more, there will be a new adventure each week. All of the movies will be fun for the whole family and they're all popular titles.
*Due to copyright restrictions, we can't publicize the names of the movies, but to see what's playing, give us a call or stop by each week. It's gonna be fun for adults and kids alike and we're way cheaper than going to the theatre!

Library to Host Lock-in for Genealogists
Friday, July 12th, gather your research materials and head for the Longview Public Library's Genealogy/Local History Department for a night of undisturbed research from 6:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight. The doors will be locked at 6:00pm, so be sure to be in the library before then or you'll get locked out of all the fun!
The library computers will be available for free access to the Footnote database of millions of military records, Dawes Rolls and other important records. Use Ancestry and the Heritage Quest database of Census, Revolutionary War Pension Records, the Freedman's Bank, PERSI and thousands of family history books. Search Newsbank Historical Newspapers database that has complete newspapers dating back to the 1600's! The list goes on and on and on.
You may also bring your own laptop and use the library's WiFi. Regretfully, Footnote and Ancestry are only accessible on the library computers.
Snacks & drinks will be allowed.
For more information, please call Ms. Linda Laminack at 903-237-1359.
