We had so much fun watching movies last summer that we decided to bring back our movie series, "An Afternoon At The Movies!" Every Thursday in June, we will gather in the Moeschle Room for a movie at 1:30pm.
 
From beasts, witches and spies to cats, dogs, toys and more, there will be a new adventure each week. All of the movies will be fun for the whole family and they're all popular titles.
 
*Due to copyright restrictions, we can't publicize the names of the movies, but to see what's playing, give us a call or stop by each week. It's gonna be fun for adults and kids alike and we're way cheaper than going to the theatre!

iMac III
This course will build on the skills learned in both the Introduction To iMac and iMac II classes. We will further dive into applications and other features that the iMac computer offers. It is highly recommended that students take both the Introduction To iMac and iMac II classes before taking this course.
 
Classes are FREE but we do ask that you call (903) 237-1354 or stop in and register in advance. Also, if you sign-up for a class and cannot make it, please be considerate and call and cancel with us so that we may give your spot to someone else. We hate turning away people, as many of our classes do fill up!

Adobe InDesign is a creative design program that allows users to create posters, flyers and brochures. It also contains features to create magazines and newspapers. The purpose of this class is to introduce participants to the basics of Adobe InDesign and provide some insight to all it has to offer. The class assumes the student has some experience with computers and using a mouse and it is recommended that Intro To iMac Computers I, II, & III be completed beforehand to allow you to focus on the InDesign program and not the iMac computer itself.

The Informal Ladies Book Club has chosen to read Little Heathens by Mildred Kalish for the month of May.
 
This book serves as a memoir from the author's childhood while growing up on her grandparents’ farm in Iowa during the height of the Great Depression. It is a story of strength and endurance- not a depressing tale of suffering. Kalish even includes recipes from the era, as well as several how-tos, such as how to catch and skin a rabbit.
 
This true-story tale of survival is very interesting and a wonderful discussion piece. Please join the Informal Ladies Book Club here at the library on Thursday, May 24th. The discussion will begin at 6:30pm and everyone is welcome, whether they have read the book or not.

Summer Reading Club (SRC) is almost here and this year will be better than ever! The theme? Get A Clue At Your Library!

The City of Longview is proud to host the 40th Anniversary Amtrak Exhibit Train and various related activities on April 28th & 29th. The free exhibit showcases rail travel over the decades, displaying memorabilia including vintage advertising, past menus and dinnerware, period uniforms, and photographs. The event will take place at the Historic Longview Junction Train Depot, 905 Pacific Ave. It is  free and open to the public from 10 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 28th, and again on Sunday, April 29th.
 
In addition to the exhibit train, the event will include activities for children, such as the “Chuggington Depot” featuring the popular children’s television series, stories, coloring, pictures, and more. Other activities will include live entertainment, music, and vendors.
 
Parking is limited at the train depot, so visitors are encouraged to park at the downtown parking lots located on Cotton Street between High Street and Fredonia Street. Free shuttles will be provided on Saturday and Sunday between the parking lots and the train depot.
