Another of our Texas Teens Read (TTR) 2013 events this summer is the I Heart Nerds Prom!
Teens will gather in the Moeschle Room on Thursday, July 25th, from 6 - 8:00 PM for a fun & funky evening of dancing, contests, prizes & more! We'll dance the night away in true nerd style so come all geeked out as there's gonna be prizes for Best Costume and Best Dance Moves! We'll also toss in some other fun surprises as well! There's even gonna be some wacky nerd trivia so don't miss out on this quirky evening as we celebrate our inner-nerd!
Advanced Excel II
This is our most advanced and in-depth Excel class. Students will create and use a variety of tables and charts such as PIVOT. We will also share workbooks and merge spreadsheets. Hands-on exercises will be included to help ensure a working knowledge of the program is attained. This class assumes the student has already taken the Basic Excel classes as well as Advanced Excel. Advanced class.
Requirements: Good typing and computer skills, must have taken Microsoft Word classes or have an excellent understanding of Microsoft Word; must have taken Excel Basic I & !! and Advanced Excel.
Classes are FREE but we do ask that you call (903) 237-1354 or stop in and register in advance. Also, if you sign-up for a class and cannot make it, please be considerate and call and cancel with us so that we may give your spot to someone else. Students will learn advanced tools such as LOOKUP, COUNT, COUNTIF, SUM and SUMIIF, as well as the OR & AND functions and the TODAY functions.Hands-on exercises will be included for more practice. This class assumes the student has already taken the Basic Excel classes. Advanced class.

This course will offer students an opportunity to become more familiar with using a computer and also with surfing the internet. They will learn some of the basic components of a computer, will learn to navigate through the Windows environment, and will learn to operate the mouse and keyboard. Students will also receive a brief introduction to the Internet with particular attention to the World Wide Web.They will gain a simple understanding of how the Internet is structured and how it functions.
Through hands-on exercises, students will explore sample programs, learn about Microsoft's Internet Explorer, hyperlinks, and searching the Internet.. This class is designed for beginning computer users.

A very popular activity here at the library, storytime is a great way to spend quality time together with your children while we do all the work! Storytime covers many different topics and usually includes songs, finger plays and an activity (such as coloring)! One thing is sure, no matter what the topic, storytime is always lots and lots of fun! Won't you join us?!?
