The purpose of this class is to introduce participants to the basics of Microsoft Access including creating tables, forms, queries and reports. The class assumes the student has some experience with Windows and using a mouse, as well as the basics of Microsoft Access.
Classes are FREE but we do ask that you call (903) 237-1354 or stop in and register in advance. Also, if you sign-up for a class and cannot make it, please be considerate and call and cancel with us so that we may give your spot to someone else. We hate turning away people, as many of our classes do fill up!

This class will serve as an introduction to Adobe Photoshop & will continue to expand on the skills learned. We will be using the Photoshop program to enhance photos and will touch on many of the unlimited uses of the features that the program offers. Students are encouraged to take notes and bring a rewritable CD, DVD, or 4GB flash drive to save their work. Flash drives may be purchased from the Library for $10.00 at the Access Services desks. Students are also welcome to bring their photos on a disc or drive to use as well.

I Read To Animals is a unique program that we introduced last year. Made possible by a grant received from the Texas State Library, the program is very effective at helping children to practice reading by alleviating the fear and embarrassment that is often associated with reading aloud in a classroom setting. Animals are friendly, patient listeners and can be great confidence builders.
We will be offering another session of I Read To Animals on Wednesday, August 15th at 3:00 PM.. We will use this time to allow kids to come into the library and practice their reading skills by reading aloud to real animals, provided by the Texas Star Rescue group. Grab your favorite animal-related book and come on into the library during this special time to sharpen those reading skills while entertaining a new furry friend!
