About Us

The Longview Public Library serves the residents of Longview and Gregg County. The Longview Public Library is located at 222 West Cotton Street in a spacious 35,000 square foot facility built in 1987. The Library offers a varied collection consisting of reference materials, local history, government documents, maps and microforms, magazines and newspapers, and excellent fiction and nonfiction collections for children, teens, and adults. The Library also offers DVDs, Blu-Rays, computers, WIFI service, eBooks, eAudiobooks, and large print books to complement the collection.

The mission of the Longview Public Library is to improve the quality of life and our community by:

  • demonstrating professional leadership in designing, developing, and managing library collections, systems and services;
  • bringing people and resources together, closing the gap between the individual and the record of knowledge and culture;
  • providing current information;
  • cooperating with other libraries, institutions, and agencies to provide resources otherwise unavailable; and
  • offering a broad and diverse range of resources to entertain and enlighten.

We hope you will visit the Longview Public Library and let us assist you with a professional and experienced staff and quality resources, services, and programs.
